Dockside Extortionist is a 1/2 Goblin Pirate that creates Treasure tokens equal to the number of artifacts and enchantments your opponents control when it enters the battlefield. It became one of the most powerful and sought-after Commander staples ever printed, enabling explosive mana generation in red-based combo decks. Its power level eventually led Wizards to ban it in Commander in 2024.

The Card Official's ruling

SELL or HOLD cautiously — the Commander ban in 2024 significantly dampened demand and long-term price trajectory, though Legacy and Vintage play still provide a floor. The most powerful red card in Commander and a cEDH staple. Single printing for years drove the price to over $100 before reprints. Still a must-have for any competitive Commander deck. Original Commander 2019 copies in PSA 9 are the premium version to hold.
